The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Greene County office will be offering the first opportunity this season to attend the private pesticide applicator continuing instruction course, led by Extension Field Agronomist, Mike Witt.
This session is scheduled for 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. Please arrive by 1:15 p.m.
Earlier in the day, ISU Extension will be offering a free Ag Coffee.
The event will be held from 9:30 - 11 a.m. also at Clover Hall.
The topic for the Ag Coffee is carbon credits with Alexis Stevens, ISU Farm Management Specialist.
The local extension office will also be offering virtual meetings on Dec. 16, Jan. 11, Feb. 24, and March 17. Space will be limited.
The last opportunity will be from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. March 9 at the Greene County Extension office.
The course will run for approximately two hours. The registration fee is $20. Registration is required to attend. Register by Dec. 7 for the Dec. 9 course. To obtain additional information about the PPAT, contact Cindy Adamson at the Greene County Extension office, 515-386-2138.
The course will fulfill 2021 recertification requirements for private pesticide applicators.
Topics covered will include corn root worm management, herbicide issues and disease management.
